Install the APK, open Relay and follow the two prompts: enable Relay in Settings → System → Keyboards, then switch to it by holding the globe/keyboard key in any app. Add your first detail in the vault and it's ready to tap.

Relay for iPhone is in beta, so join the list and we'll email you the TestFlight invite. Once installed: Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Relay. Typing your details works with "Allow Full Access" off; you only enable it if you want document-to-clipboard features.

Download the desktop app, unzip and run. Press Ctrl+Shift+V in any app to open the Relay picker and insert a detail without touching the mouse. Pair it with your phone from the Sync page to carry one vault everywhere.

Coming soon. Relay for MacBook follows the same rules as Windows: a locally encrypted vault, offline-first, optional end-to-end-encrypted sync. Join the beta list and we'll email you the moment it lands.

No. Relay works fully with no account at all. Signing in (Apple, Google or Microsoft) is optional. It just lets us recognise you for support and product updates. Your vault never depends on an account, and we never see its contents either way.

Open the app → Vault → Add. Type any detail in (a number, an address, a note), or point the camera at a passport or ID and Relay reads the fields for you. Everything is encrypted on your device the moment it's saved.

Yes. Settings → Export vault (.pcv) writes an encrypted file you control; import it on the other device with your password. Most people prefer sync, which does this continuously and end-to-end encrypted.

Hold the globe key (bottom-left of any keyboard) and pick Relay from the list. Your vault appears right where you were typing; answer with a tap and switch back the same way. On Android a quick tap of the globe cycles keyboards.

Nine times out of ten the keyboard is installed but not enabled. Android: Settings → System → Keyboards → On-screen keyboard → toggle Relay on. iPhone: Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard. Then in any app, hold the globe key and pick Relay from the list. Still stuck? Email us. Include your phone model and we'll sort it.

Tap the document's tile. The scan and its details travel together into the chat as one message. On iPhone, handing files to other apps uses the clipboard, which is the one feature that asks for "Allow Full Access"; typing plain details never needs it.

By design. Relay is not a password manager and refuses to insert anything into a password box. Keep iCloud Keychain or 1Password for those. Relay is for everything else people ask you for: details, documents, addresses, pins.

Completely. Try it in airplane mode. The keyboard never needed the internet: on Android it has no internet permission at all, and your vault lives on the device. Only optional sync and map images ever use a connection, and only from the main app.

Yes. The Relay keyboard has a search bar above the category tabs. Start typing ("iban", "passport", "gate…") and the tiles filter instantly. On Windows, Ctrl+Shift+V opens straight into search.

Point the camera at the passport's photo page. Relay reads the machine-readable zone on your device (checksums verified, no guessing), you review and fix any field, name it, done. The photo and the extracted details are saved together, encrypted, and never uploaded anywhere.

Get the whole photo page in frame, flat, in decent light. Glare on the laminate is the usual culprit. If it still won't take, just add the details manually and attach a photo of the document to the same item; it works identically from the keyboard.

Anything you're tired of retyping: Identity (passport, ID, licence), Financial (IBAN, card details, TRN), Locations (map pins + addresses), Documents (scans and PDFs) and free-form Text (wifi codes, gate PINs, standard replies). You can rename, reorder and create your own categories.

Save a place once. Search the map or drag the pin to the exact gate, add a note. When someone asks "where are you?", one tap sends a live map pin they can navigate to plus the written address underneath. It opens straight in their maps app.

Mark any item sensitive and it asks for Face ID / fingerprint every time before it leaves the vault, even if the keyboard is already unlocked. Good for card numbers and anything you'd rather double-confirm.

Yes. Relay supports multiple entities (you, your freelance business, your company) side by side. Switch from the keyboard's Me menu so the right passport or the right trade licence is always the one on top.

Pairing shows a QR code on one device that you scan with the other. That handshake passes the encryption key directly between your devices. From then on they exchange an end-to-end-encrypted copy of your vault via our relay; we only ever see unreadable ciphertext. Full detail on the privacy page.

Your vault is encrypted and biometric-locked. Whoever holds the phone holds noise. If you'd paired a second device, your vault is already on it. We can't recover your vault for you because we never have it (that's the privacy trade), so we recommend pairing a second device early.

Pair your phone with your PC (and Mac, soon) and carry the same vault on all of them. Each pairing exchanges keys directly between your devices, and you can unpair any device at any time from the Sync page.

Share the details a household actually needs (kids' IDs, insurance cards, the home pin) so either parent answers in a tap. Shares travel device-to-device, end-to-end encrypted, you choose exactly which items, and you can revoke at any time.

No, structurally. Your vault is end-to-end encrypted (we hold ciphertext at most), the Android keyboard has no internet permission at all, and there's no data business here, just the app. The privacy & security page shows the full line-by-line table.

Check it yourself: on Android, Settings → Apps → Relay → Permissions: internet isn't there, because we never declared it and the OS enforces that. On iPhone, "Allow Full Access" stays off for typing. Or just switch on airplane mode: the keyboard works identically.

No. It's the other half of your pocket. Password managers do logins; Relay does everything else people ask you for: passports, IBANs, addresses, documents, map pins. It refuses to type into password fields, so the two never fight.

Subscriptions are handled by the store you bought them in: App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android. Cancel there any time and Pro features run until the end of the period. Refunds follow the store's own policy. The everyday core of Relay stays free either way.

Open Sync on either device and hit Sync now. Changes travel on a schedule, so a manual push usually settles it. If a device was restored or reinstalled, unpair and re-pair (fresh QR scan) so the keys line up again.
